Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Yesterday Britton and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary! I can't believe it has already been 2 years! Britton is the best! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life. I can't imagine my life without him. I would have never guessed back in 9th grade when we meet that I would be marrying him 7 years later. I am the luckiest wife ever! I can honestly say that I love Britton more today than I ever have before. I love you so much Britton! Here are some pictures of our beautiful wedding day...

To celebrate our Anniversary, Britton and I went to Thanksgiving Point to the Tulip Festival. We went with my sister Linsey, her husband Derek, and her two kids Braedon and Daxton. They bought a membership to Thanksgiving Point and their "guests" get in half price. So when we told them we wanted to go to the Tulip Festival they told us about the discount. Of course we couldn't pass that up. So they came with us on our Anniversary date! We loved it. We love spending time with them. Don't worry...Britton and I went out to dinner afterwards just the two of us. We went to Goodwood BBQ. Yummm! Here are some fun pictures from the day!

*All of the pictures of the flowers were taken by Britton. Once I showed him how to use the close-up button on our camera, he couldn't stop. It was funny. We would be walking along and then all of a sudden we didn't know where Britton was. He was way behind us on the ground or kneeling next to flowers trying to get good shots of them. Oh, he is so funny! I love him!

Jazz/Lakers Playoff Game!

Britton and I went with some friends to the Jazz game on Thursday night.  Let me tell you...it was so intense.  Of course I love the Jazz and want to see them win all the time, but I have never yelled so loud and wanted them to win so much as I did on Thursday night!  That game was so fun!  The arena got so loud that my ears we ringing at the end.  I'm so glad we beat the Lakers!

Peng bought this Korver bobble head doll.  Yes, we all think it is funny that Peng has a doll!

Some Catching Up to Do!

These past few weeks have been crazy. We have had so much going on PLUS Britton and I both got sick. So I'm sorry that it has taken forever to post what we have been up to.

On April 10th we had a get together at our new house. We have lived in our house since November, but this was the first get together/house warming party we had. It was a lot of fun. We ate food, played Catch Phrase (hilarious) and, of course, sang karaoke! A party at our house would not be a party if we didn't have karaoke! Here are some pics of the fun night!

Ben singing and holding his fruit kabob in hand.  He loved those things!

Then came Easter and my birthday!

Easter and my birthday fell on the same day this year!  It was a lot of fun.  Britton got me Keith Urban tickets, Darryl Worley/Josh Gracin tickets, clothes, sunglasses and Over the Top Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cookies!  Oh those are so so so yummy!  Then we went to church and had a great Easter program.  Britton and I both sang in the ward choir Easter program.  I'm grateful that Britton comes with me to ward choir.  He is the best!  Then we taught our primary class about the real meaning of Easter.  It was great to reflect on the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.  After church we went to my sister and brother-in-laws house for Easter dinner and birthday celebrations.  We had a very yummy dinner!  Then we had an Easter egg hunt for the little kids.
Here are the kids (and Britton) ready for the Easter egg hunt!  I love this picture of all of them with their blue on.  It is so cute!  Britton helped Tyler find his Easter eggs.  All of the nieces and nephews just love Britton.  He is going to make an awesome dad one day!

My 2nd Grade Birthday Party!

At the beginning of the year, my 2nd grade class makes a graph of all of our birthdays. We make a tally of how many birthdays are in each month and then we make a graph and keep it by our calender and birthday sign. They wanted to know when my birthday was so we could graph it too. My birthday was the only one in April. So...last week when April started one of my students asked, "Who's birthday is it in April. There is only one person. Who is it?" None of my students raised their hands. Then I reminded them that it was me. I am almost 24 and I don't make a big deal out of birthdays like 7 and 8 year olds. They got so excited that it was my birthday. They started writing birthday cards that day in class. I know that a few of my students went home and told their parents that it was my birthday because then I would get notes in their planners telling me Happy Birthday. Well, on Monday my room mom came in and asked if she could come in on Wednesday and do a Spring craft/activity with the students. I told her that would be great. Well...Wednesday morning I got to school and my whole classroom was decorated with yellow signs, balloons and streamers (yellow is my favorite color). My room mom came after school on Tuesday to decorate it. How nice huh? I thought that was enough to do for my birthday. But that wasn't the end of it. My students all came in the at the beginning of the day with yellow roses. Each student was holding a yellow rose. My room mom did it again. She handed out the yellow roses while the students were in line outside waiting to come inside. So I got 24 yellow roses! How cute! And that still isn't the end of it. Well she came in an hour later to do the Spring craft/activity with the students. She told me that she really didn't have anything planned for a craft/activity. She was actually throwing me a surprise birthday party. She brought cupcakes and icecream and cards for each student to write something to me. She also had her husband email my husband some questions about me (our husbands work together) to spotlight me for my birthday. So my husband even knew about this. These were the spotlight questions:

Favorite color: Yellow
Favorite food: Baked potatoes
Favorite treat: Reeses Peanut Butter Cups
Favorite TV show: So You Think You Can Dance
Hobbies: Aubrey loves to sing. She has been singing since she was a little girl and she will blow you away with her voice.
Favorite movie: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Favorite activities: Aubrey loves to go to country concerts. Last year she met Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Aubrey also enjoys country swing dancing and spending time with her family.
Something special about her: Aubrey absolutely loves children which explains why she is such an amazing teacher. She wants the best for her kids and is always willing to go the extra mile for them. There is a lot of behind the scene stuff that she does that her students and parents will never know of. Aubrey truly cares for her students and I believe they will remember her as one of the best teachers they have ever had.

Isn't that cute what my husband said? As my room mom was reading that I started to cry. My students asked me if I was sad. I told them that I was crying because I was happy and what my husband said really touched me.

We ended the surprise party by playing birthday BINGO. My room mom is the best! She has done so much for me this year.

I later read the cards that my students wrote for me. Oh, 2nd graders are so cute! Here are some of my favorites...

You are a sparkle in my life!

You are the best teacher ever and I mean it. Even my mom thinks so.

Roses are read, violets are blue, I have the best teacher and so do you!

You are the best. You are so nice and cool. I love it when you teach me. When I grow up I want to be a teacher so so so bad!

I think you are special because you are the nicest person I know and prettiest person I know and the prettiest singer I know and the sweetest person I know.

THAT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER (even though it isn't until Sunday)!
